About going solar
How much does a solar system cost in Pakistan?
As a rough 2026 guide: a 5kW On-Grid residential system runs around PKR 750,000β950,000 fully installed; a 10kW Hybrid with lithium battery backup is typically PKR 1.8β2.6 million; commercial 50kW systems sit in the PKR 6β8 million range. Our calculator gives an instant ballpark, and daily panel rates are published separately.
What size solar system do I need for my home?
Size the system to cover roughly 75β90% of annual consumption. Quick guide: a monthly bill of PKR 20,000β30,000 typically needs 5kW; PKR 30,000β50,000 needs 8kW; PKR 50,000+ usually needs 10kW or larger. Our online calculator answers in 60 seconds; the free site survey confirms it.
How long does payback take?
Grid-tied residential systems with net metering usually pay back in 3.5β5 years. Commercial systems with high daytime consumption can pay back in 2.5β4 years. After payback you generate free electricity for another 20+ years β panel warranties run 25β30 years.
Will solar work during load shedding?
Only with a Hybrid system with battery backup. Standard On-Grid systems shut off during outages (anti-islanding protection). Hybrid systems with lithium batteries run through outages seamlessly β no flicker, no manual switching β which is why Hybrid is Pakistan's most popular choice.
How long does installation take?
A 5β10kW residential system takes 2β3 working days to install, then 30β60 days for net metering approval depending on your DISCO. A 100kW commercial system is typically commissioned in 10β14 working days.
Do you cover areas outside Punjab?
Yes β all four provinces. Residential systems within 200km of Okara carry no travel charge; further projects include a nominal travel and accommodation charge stated upfront in the quotation.
About the equipment
Which panel brand should I choose?
We only install Tier-1 manufacturers: Jinko, Longi, Canadian Solar, JA Solar, Trina, Aiko, Astronergy, Huasun. All offer comparable performance and 25β30 year linear power warranties β we recommend based on the cell technology (TOPCon, HJT, or PERC) that fits your roof and budget.
Lithium battery or lead-acid?
Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) from PylonTech, BYD, Dyness, Soluna, or Hithium is now the standard: 6,000β10,000 cycles versus 600β1,200 for lead-acid, 95%+ efficiency, zero maintenance. The higher upfront cost pays back in 3β4 years.
How long are the warranties?
Tier-1 panels: 25β30 year linear power warranty (β₯84β87% output at year 25) plus 12β15 year product warranty. Inverters: 5β10 years (Huawei offers 10 standard). Lithium batteries: 10 years or rated cycles, whichever comes first.
Financing & net metering
Do you offer EMI or financing?
Yes, two routes: (1) SBP Green Banking Scheme through partner banks for systems 5kW and up, with extended tenures and subsidised rates; (2) In-house EMI with 50% down and the balance over 6β12 months at 0% markup for systems up to 20kW.
How does net metering work?
Under NEPRA regulations, a bidirectional meter records consumption and export separately β you're billed only for net consumption, and surplus units carry forward. Saonix handles the full DISCO application: survey, technical report, and licence issuance.
What documents do I need for net metering?
CNIC copy, latest paid electricity bill, property ownership document or rent agreement, and an authorisation letter if the connection isn't in your name. Saonix prepares all technical documentation β SLD, equipment specs, datasheets, and the application form.
